Tonight I was blessed with the opportunity to attend a networking event, and I must say that I am so proud to be among so many amazingly talented individuals. I consider it quite an honor to be associated with so many individuals who understand exactly where you are. Many of them were also up-and-coming business owners - fashion designers, jewelry designers, stylists, other event planners. It has always excited me to be surrounded by greatness, and tonight was no different. It was wonderful to be in a room full of people who were helping each other so that each one could get to that level of greatness that we are all aspiring to reach. Keep reaching, people! Keep reaching!
I am not quite sure of exactly where this post will go, but I had the urge to write... so here I am. What I can say is that I am grateful for friends and family who are supportive. Too many times I have witnessed individuals who have had dreams and desires to do things, but decided against pursuing those dreams because of others who were supposedly in their corners but were really taking up space and were not supporting or encouraging. I can honestly say that I have very supportive individuals who have been on this journey with me (for quite some time mind you), and for their existence in my life, I am ever-so grateful. What some people do not realize is that the only thing that turns a dream into a reality is the decision to wake up and take action. That's it! Wake-up and take action. And the reality is that sometimes when you are surrounded by the wrong people, influences, or energies you can become easily deterred from pursuing a goal simply because the negativity makes you just want to literally crawl in the bed and go to sleep. But its time that we wake up! We should wake up and realize that dreams are limited to sleeping. And when we do have dreams when we are awake, it is because we are focused on things that we want and are usually somewhat passionate about. Furthermore, when you begin to have the same dream over and over again, the repetitiveness makes that dream become a nightmare. And there mere fact that said dream is completely attainable (within reason) makes the dream (turned nightmare) into a haunting experience. So now because we limit ourselves or because we focus on other's thoughts and opinions, we allow ourselves to be haunted by our own dreams that we choose not to pursue. Simply put: sometimes we make the decision to suffer when we allow our dreams to stay just that - as dreams.
Well... I guess I will stop here. When I first started this blog I said that I would try not to tap into my inner motivational speaker... FAIL! lol There were so many things that I wanted to share in this post, but I will just have to make sure I do another post very soon. I have some exciting news to share!
So until next time... Stop dreaming and take action!
So... yesterday was the official debut of E. Michelle Events & Design. I participated in the Kiss the Bride Bridal Show here in Little Rock, AR and I must say... that it. Was. AMAZING! The response which was received was absolutely wonderful and I am very honored to have been a part of such an amazing experience. (Make sure to check out a few of the pictures from the show in the Design Gallery.) Subconsciously I am still attempting to wrap my head around all that happened as my mind moves at warp speed thinking of all of the things that are to come. All of the ideas, all of the visions... its all pretty exciting! Get ready to take the journey with me!
Hello! Thank you so much for stopping by to get to know a little bit about E. Michelle Events & Design. Even as I attempt to gather the words that you are reading, it is completely blowing my mind rhat all of this is happening. Just a few short months ago, I realized that re-entering the'event industry' was something that I really wanted to do and that I was simply going to go for it... and that is exactly what happened. Seemingly overnight things just fell into place! I was able to jump start a business, assist and support a few individuals with my event and design services, AND book a wedding expo/bridal show all within a few short weeks. So if nothing else, if you're reading this and you have a dream that you want to pursue, DO IT! (I will try to refrain from tapping into the motivational speaker that is within me.)
With everything happening so quickly, I have spent the last few weeks working very hard to prepare for the bridal show as well as officially start the business. And I must say that things are coming along well. I have had a TON of ideas for designs, photos, and especially BLOGS! But I have been putting my everything into preparing for the bridal show. So with that being said, I better get back to work. But please, stop by again! I can assure you that there will be updates very soon!
